Pester Siraya began her career as a nurse specialising in midwifery and completed a qualification in Public Health Nursing in 1998. Her medical education, coupled with a deep-rooted passion to empower women in their sexual and reproductive health, led to an extensive career in the international non-profit sector.
Pester joined MSI’s Zimbabwe country programme in 2012 as a Social Franchise Manager and was promoted to Director of Grants and External Relations in 2014. She also worked for two years in MSI’s programme in Malawi as a Senior Operations Director, before assuming the position of Country Director for Zimbabwe in 2020.
Pester has over 20 years’ experience in community and public health interventions including maternal and child health, family planning, reproductive health, and HIV and AIDS programming. She also brings extensive experience in programme design and development, implementation, research fundraising, and proposal writing expertise. Prior to working for MSI, Pester worked for Population Services International as a HIV Service Coordinator and HIV Services Manager from 2006 – 2012.
She holds an Executive Master of Business Management, Master of Philosophy in HIV Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Sciences.
