Maiga Younoussa Hamani joined MSI Niger in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer, where his excellent financial management skills contributed to the programme’s ability to operate at scale.
He was subsequently appointed to Human Resources and Administration/Logistics Manager, where he promoted Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to create a work environment where all MSI team members feel safe, valued, and respected.
Maiga’s management skills have supported the programme through difficult periods, from the re-opening of two clinics that were temporarily closed in 2018, to supporting the programme through an increasingly insecure and tense political and economic environment.
Despite these challenges, Maiga has ensured that key performance indicators of 2023 have been delivered, including securing $2.7 million over four years from the Dutch Government.
Before joining MSI, Maiga worked for the company Niger-Afrique (a textile subsidiary of the Vlisco group in the Netherlands) as Chief Financial Officer and Internal Auditor, and Country Director for Niger and Burkina Faso.
