Anisa Berdellima has been with MSI since 2014 and serves as our Director of Evidence and Impact. She has 15 years of experience using data, evidence and insights to drive programmatic change across diverse contexts and health areas such as access to innovative medicine, health financing and expanding access and choice to sexual and reproductive health services.
Anisa’s team work to empower MSI to realise its mission through the provision of robust information, insightful analysis, innovative research and impact driven approaches. They work together with country programmes to facilitate cross learning and evidence dissemination, fostering adaptive programming by exploring what, how and why.
Anisa began her career in the private sector, supporting projects ranging from financing new pharmaceutical products to promoting market access to innovative drugs. She then transitioned to the public sector, working in the Ministry of Health of Burundi, supporting implementation of performance-based financing, budget formulation and assessment of policy intervention. Prior to joining MSI, Anisa consulted with the World Bank and the UK Government’s Department for International Development to examine the economic benefits and cost-effectiveness of essential medicines and maternal and child nutrition. She is a health economist by background with a passion for equity, quality and value for money. Anisa holds a Master’s in Public and Economic Policy from London School of Economics.
