Zimbabwe
Established in 1987, our programme in Zimbabwe, known as Population Services Zimbabwe (PSZ), is one of the country’s largest sexual and reproductive health organisations, providing services across all the 10 provinces of Zimbabwe.
Working closely with the Government of Zimbabwe and other stakeholders, PSZ provides all modern methods of short-acting, long-acting and reversible contraception, post-abortion care following an unsafe abortion, as well as maternal and child health services, cervical cancer screening and treatment of precancerous lesions, and testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV. We provide comprehensive services to everyone throughout their reproductive life cycles.
With support from the Embassy of Sweden, through the various service delivery channels (Clinics, Outreach Teams, Public Sector Strengthening and Social Marketing), Population Services Zimbabwe ensures that communities living in hard-to-reach areas can access customised, affordable sexual and reproductive health services, and is advancing access for marginalised groups, such as adolescents and women living in poverty.
To increase the impact of our work amongst young people, PSZ in partnership with SYP and UNFPA launched the Self-Care project incorporating an online counselling toolkit enabling self-diagnosis, self-testing, self-treatment and self-management of sexual and reproductive health issues.
