In the latest Global Health 50/50 Report, which looks at the gender equity policies and practices of more than 200 organisations in global health, we’re proud that MSI has been rated a ‘very high performer’.

MSI is listed as one of the 33 organisations that scored a ‘very high performer’ rating—a rise on our ‘high performer’ score last year. This highlights MSI as one of the leading organisations in gender equity and inclusivity in the global health sector.

We were also named as a ‘fast-riser’—recognising the rapid growth of our gender-related policies in recent years, including with our definition of gender and our board diversity policy.

Professors Sarah Hawkes and Kent Buse, Co-CEOs of Global Health 50/50, said:

“Global Health 50/50 is pleased to recognise MSI Reproductive Choices as a ‘very high performer’ in our 2024 Report, ‘Gaining Ground’. We hope that MSI Reproductive Choices’ efforts to advance equality and diversity inspires others. We look to them to continue to push this hard-won progress forward for the people working in global health and around the world.”

For the first time, the report acknowledges significant milestones to increased gender equity in global health, including gender parity among non-profit board members and public commitments to gender equity—both of which MSI scored highly in.

There is still work to be done across the global healthcare sector to ensure that voices from the communities we serve are represented. The report finds that women from low-income countries currently make up only 2% of non-profit board seats.

MSI is proud to be making strides towards gender transformative ways of working. These wins are testament to the dedicated work going on behind the scenes to remain an inclusive employer of choice, address the causes of gender-based health inequalities, and transform harmful gender norms.

While we celebrate these achievements, we remain committed to building on this progress with sustained effort to further the objectives of our Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Strategy.
